Big Game For The New York Jets

The Jets are going into Nashville needing this win to improve to 3-1. The Jets need to win every game they can because their October schedule is the toughest in the league. The Jets face Atlanta at the Georgia Dome, New England at home, Steelers at home, Cincinatti away, and then they finish off against the Saints at home. These are all going to be tough games for the Jets unless the offense improves. Geno Smith will not be able to throw multiple picks against these teams and expect the defense to hold every single time. Geno will need to play smart, go through his progressions and take what the defense gives him. He can not afford to force passes against these teams.

The bigger game for the Jets on this brutal schedule is the New England Patriots who are 3-0. By the time the Jets play them, the Patriots should have Gronkowski back a long with Danny Amendola. If the Jets have any hope of making the playoffs they will need to split the season series with the Patriots. Divisional games are the most important. Division wins essentially counts as a game and a half.

Look for the Jets to try and shut down the speedy Chris Johnson and contain Jake Locker. If Locker feels pressure he will not hesitate to run to pick up extra yardage. If you look back at the San Diego game last week, Locker ran a bootleg, faked the linebacker and ran for a 39 yard gain. The Jets will try and make Locker throw as much as possible.
