Sanchez's season likely over

Mark Sanchez has a torn labrum in his shoulder after getting injured during the Jets 3rd preseason game against the Giants. Sanchez visited with Dr. James Andrew and was told he needed season ending surgery to repair it. However, Sanchez has chosen to rehab his shoulder instead so he still has a chance to play this season. If Sanchez receives season ending surgery it will likely be the last we see of Sanchez as John Idzik will most likely cut him and free up some salary cap space for 2014. Sanchez is scheduled to make around 12 million for the 2014 season and Idzik will be looking to cut ties with Sanchez and the contract former GM Mike Tannenbaum gave him which should bring the Jets salary cap to around 30-40 million in free space. It will be a fall from grace for Sanchez as he led the Jets to back to back AFC Championship games his first 2 years in the league and has a passer rating of 94 in the playoffs. Look for Sanchez to rehab his shoulder and try to play once again this season to try and save his spot even though it is highly unlikely he will be on the Jets after this season.
